Tears for Fears Background

Tears for Fears is currently made up of Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith. The duo met as teenagers in Bath and started to work together to produce music. They wanted to give other artists a chance to perform with them, so their band members were constantly changing for new features. Manny Elias and Ian Stanley joined the band, but later left for different reasons. The first two singles they produced didn’t receive much acclaim, but the third one was the charm. Their single, “Mad World,” reached number three on UK charts. Following that, their album, The Hurting, was a huge success and remained on the top of the charts for several weeks.
