Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll, better known by his stage name Kygo, is a renowned Norwegian DJ and record producer. He first gained international fame with his December 2013 remix of Ed Sheeran's "I See Fire" and his hit single "Firestone" featuring Conrad Sewell, released in December 2014. Kygo quickly became a streaming sensation on Spotify, reaching 1 billion streams faster than any other artist by late 2015, and by June 2016, he had accumulated 2 billion streams.

Kygo's string of successful releases includes singles like "Stole the Show," "Here for You," and "Stay" in 2015, the 2017 hit "It Ain't Me" with Selena Gomez, and a 2019 remix of Whitney Houston’s "Higher Love." These tracks have charted internationally. His debut album, *Cloud Nine*, was released on 13 May 2016.

In a historic moment for house music, Kygo performed at the closing ceremony of the 2016 Rio Olympics, marking the first time a house music producer had performed at such an event. In 2018, Billboard placed him third on its Billboard Dance 100 ranking of dance musicians. That same year, he was ranked 32nd on DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs list, and in 2019, he moved to the 42nd spot.

Kygo's stage name is an amalgam formed from the first two letters of his first and last names, a moniker he created during his time using the Itslearning platform.
