      29 March 2024 (Friday) 19:30

John Clayton Mayer is an American singer, guitarist, and record producer.

Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Mayer attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, but disenrolled and moved to Atlanta in 1997 with Clay Cook.

Together, they formed a short-lived two-man band called Lo-Fi Masters. After their split, Mayer continued to play local clubs, refining his skills and gaining a following. After his appearance at the 2001 South by Southwest Festival, he was signed to Aware Records, and then Columbia Records, which released his first EP, Inside Wants Out. His following two full-length albums—Room for Squares (2001) and Heavier Things (2003)—did well commercially, achieving multi-platinum status. In 2003, he won the Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for the single "Your Body Is a Wonderland".

Mayer's secondary career pursuits extend to television hosting, comedy, and writing; he has authored columns for magazines such as Esquire. He supports various causes and has performed at charity benefits. He is a watch aficionado (with a collection he values in the "tens of millions" of dollars), contributing to the watch site Hodinkee, and has been on the jury at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève.

      UB40 Tour Schedule

This legendary band is an abbreviation of “Unemployment Benefit, Form 40” and it’s just about to shake up your ears once again. Throughout its path, UB40 has popularized the reggae music worldwide. In 2019, the band will celebrate its 40-year anniversary through the big tour around UK. According to the tight schedule, the group members will visit New Zealand at first place. The band will give concerts for over several months travelling across the Great Britain, Australia and USA with the first show on the 25th of January in the Church Road Winery, Napier.

      UB40’s Background

UB40 was formed in 1978 in Birmingham by former schoolmates. The first concert, however, took place in 1979 on the friend’s birthday party. The first breakthrough in their career happened when they started playing at the support of the Pretenders. Yet, their premier album has achieved a great success taking high positions in the UK chart. In 1983, the band has conquered the USA audience and became the first foreign group to visit the Soviet Union. The original lineup of the group broke in 2008 when Ali Campbell said that he leaves the group. UB40 has many achievements such as taking part in the Proms in 2000 and 2006 years and 5 Grammy nominations for the best reggae album in the US and the UK. Today, the band has 6 members that currently touring with their new songs although the rumor is that Ali Campbell is touring separately with 2 former members under the same name.

      UB40’s Greatest Hits

A bunch of songs issued by this record-breaking group has topped the UK and The US Singles and Billboard charts. They are famous for such songs as “(I Can’t Help) Falling in Love with You”, “Red Red Wine”, “Kingston Town, King", "Food for Thought”, “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot”.

They’re based in Manchester, England and incorporate both music and dance into their art. Part of the reason why they’re so popular is because of their unique take on pop rock. Take That plans to bring in the warmer weather with some great live shows, starting in London on March 28th. They continue moving throughout Europe in places like Cardiff, Berlin, Amsterdam, and Hamburg. The final date they currently have selected is June 25th in Frankfurt, Germany.

      Take That Background

Take That is currently made up of Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, and Howard Donald. The group was originally brought together through the mind process of Nigel Martin-Smith, who wanted to create a teen band that could appeal to all age groups. He met Barlow at a local pub and was impressed by his songwriting skills. He decided to create a band that would best fit and further Barlow’s abilities, so through auditions he found the rest of the crew. They travelled through England doing small gigs to build up their fan base and eventually had a breakthrough with their cover of a popular song. They then released their album, Everything Changes, and were met with success immediately.

      Take That’s Greatest Hits
